Those looking to get the Fire Phone for 99 cents must sign a two-year contract with AT&T (T), which is the only carrier for the device. The 99 cent price tag is close to a $200 drop from the smartphone’s full price, reports The New York Times.

Amazon’s price drop on the Fire Phone has the company practically giving it away. This may be part of an effort to get the device in more users hands so it can make its money back through its online retail service. Puchase of the device still includes a free year of Amazon Prime, which normally cost $99, NYT notes.

Amazon has yet to release sales figures for the Fire Phone and it may not do so. The device was expected to sell between 2 to 3 million units by the end of the year. However, the drastic price drop could mean that sales are slow, reports The Wall Street Journal.

AMZN shares were down 2% as of Tuesday afternoon.
