Amazon Family Library: What You Can (and Can’t) Share

Amazon (AMZN) Family Library is a new feature that allows users to share multiple forms of media across several accounts

amzn-amazon-amazon-family-libraryThe Amazon Family Library will allow users to set up sharing of media obtained from Amazon between six people in the same household. The system is set up to allow for two parent accounts and four accounts for children. The feature won’t be limited to the company’s Kindle and will be able to be used on other devices that have access to its apps, reports The Verge.

  • Audio books
  • Games
  • Apps
  • Prime Instant videos

Media That Can’t Be Shared

  • Music
  • Movies
  • TV Shows

The Amazon Family Library was announced along with the company’s next generation of e-readers. However, it will not be available when the devices launch next month and will come in the form of a software update later, GeekWire notes.

AMZN shares were up slightly as of Thursday afternoon.
