McDonald’s (MCD) is facing a french fries shortage in Japan.

McDonald'sThe burger chain is only getting about 55% of its average monthly shipment, according to the McDonald’s Japan website. The company said it wasn’t able to get a stable supply of french fries for the month of December.

The shipment delay is being caused by labor disputes at US West Coast ports. McDonald’s meals with medium fries will be 40 cents cheaper in Japan.

“This is a measure we’ve decided to take because we might run out of fries. We apologize to customers for the inconvenience,” a McDonald’s spokesperson said.

MCD stock is up 0.29% Tuesday afternoon.
