One man has file a lawsuit against Purina and claims that its Beneful dog food made two of his dogs sick and killed a third. The lawsuit claims that his dogs became sick after eating the comapny’s “kibbles” style dog food, reports CBS News.

According to the lawsuit, the man believes that his dogs became sick due to some of the ingredients in the Beneful dog food. He claims that the food contains mycotoxins and propylene glycol and that they are responsible for the illness. He also said there have been close to 3,000 similar complaints about the dog food, CBS News notes.

“We believe the lawsuit is baseless, and we intend to vigorously defend ourselves and our brand,” Bill Salzman, director of corporate communications for Purina, told News4Jax. “Beneful had two previous class action suits filed in recent years with similar baseless allegations, and both were dismissed by the courts.”
