apple-rumors-patent-waterproof-iphone-aapliOS: Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to release iOS 8.2 to the general public next week, reports MacRumors. Previous rumors placed the release of iOS 8.2 this week, but that didn’t happen. It’s possible that the update was delayed so that the tech company could release its recently-announced fix to the Freak security flaw. The pushed back date also makes sense as it will have the update being released near the same time as Apple’s Spring Forward event on Monday.

Beats: A new rumor claims that Apple won’t be revealing its new Beats music service at its Spring Forward event, 9to5Mac notes. The rumor comes from an unnamed source in the music industry that claims to have insider information regarding the service. However, this source also claims that the company will release a beta for the service at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Reports claim that Apple is planning to release the revise Beats service as part of its iOS 8.4 update, but it could be held back until iOS 9 is released later this year.

Waterproof: A new patent from Apple shows a unique way to waterproof a smartphone, reports BGR. The patent describes a method of waterproofing a possible future iPhone without making the case air tight. Instead, the company want to use a hydrophobic coating on the device’s internal parts. This coating would prevent water damage and protect the components inside the smartphone. A similar method of waterproofing a smartphone already exists in the form of a $30 spray.
