Ikea is adding vegan meatballs to its menu on Thursday.
The new vegan meatballs being added to Ikea’s menu are called “Veggie Balls”. The meatballs are made without any animal products and are designed to catch the eye of Millennials. 10 of the Veggie Balls will cost $4.49 and are part of the company’s efforts to offer delicious, healthy food, reports USA Today.
Ikea’s vegan meatballs are made up of chickpeas, carrots, green peas, red pepper, corn, kale, pea protein, onion, rapeseed oil, salt and seasoning. To compare prices, a serving of 15 of the companies normal meatballs runs for $5.99, USA Today.
“The veggie ball is meant to cater to a wider audience and offer more choice,” Michael La Cour, IKEA’s managing director for its food business, told
The Wall Street Journal. “Our prime ambition is to drive visitation to stores.”
