Wal-Mart is planning to start an invitation-only subscription service that would cost half of what Amazon Prime does. This will put the cost of the service at $50 a year. Members of the service will get free three-day shipping from the retailer, reports CNNMoney
Wal-Mart hasn’t announced if the new subscription service will ever be opened up to everyone. However, it did say that customer feedback related to the service will determine how it is changed in the future, CNNMoney notes.
According to the Associated Press, the new Wal-Mart service won’t include the ability to stream videos or music. These are features that members of Amazon Prime have access to.
