Governor Greg Abbott said that he is satisfied with Texas’ current setup that only allows vehicles to be sold via a dealership. Tesla doesn’t sell its cars through dealerships, which means customers won’t be able to buy them directly from the company in that state, reports Business Insider.

While Tesla can’t sell its own cars in Texas, citizens living in the state still have the ability to buy the car. To do this, they can go to a gallery to examine the Model S. There’s no talking about prices at the gallery and test drives aren’t allowed. However, customers can order the car online after getting a look at it, Business Insider notes.

Despite the setback in Texas, Tesla has been working to make it so that it can start direct sales of its electric vehicle in other states. It’s ran into some trouble in Michigan due to a new bill, but New Jersey and Maryland have approved direct sales of the vehicle.
