Tuesday Apple Rumors: Apple to Open First Store in India

apple-rumors-store-india-aaplPatent: Apple (AAPL) has been granted a patent for a fingerprint scanner in laptops, reports 9to5Mac. The patent comes from way back in 2007 and describes a system similar to the one the company uses for its Touch ID in smartphones and tablets. The tech company hasn’t introduced a laptop or desktop computer that includes a fingerprint scanner, but it’s possible that a future version of the iMac or MacBook could house such a device.

Release: Today is the day that Apple has released a variety of new products to customers, MacRumors notes. Apple released new 4K and 5K iMacs today and also released several new accessories. These accessories include the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2. The new devices were heard of in rumors prior tot heir launch and will set customers back a pretty penny. The 4K iMac starts at $1,499, the 5K iMac starts at $1,799, the Magic Keyboard costs $99, the Magic Mouse 2 costs $79 and the Magic Trackpad 2 costs $129.

India: Apple is planning to launch its first stores in India, but they won’t be full locations, reports AppleInsider. The new retail locations in India for the tech company will be stores inside of stores. The stores will be located inside of Croma, an electronics retailer in the country, stores. There will be six of these stores located inside of Croma locations. The store will take up between 400 to 500 square-feet and will be the first time the company has launched stores in India.
