Utilities stocks rose broadly on Wall Street today, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 1.2%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average pushed 0.9% higher, the Nasdaq was up 0.4% and the S&P 500 pushed 0.9% higher.

Some of the biggest gainers among utilities stocks include:

• Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP (BIP): BIP stock is up 3.6%, marking the seventh consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Cia De Saneamento Basico Do Estado (SBS): SBS stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Targa Resources (TRGP): TRGP stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• American Water Works (AWK): AWK stock is up 2.5% today.

• Cheniere Energy Partners LP (CQP): CQP stock is up 2.5% today.

• Markwest Energy Partners LP (MWE): MWE stock is up 2.5%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Uil Holdings Corp (UIL): UIL stock is up 2.5% today.

• Itc Holdings (ITC): ITC stock is up 2.5% today.

• Boardwalk Pipeline Partners L.P. (BWP): BWP stock is up 2.4% today.

• Exelon Corp (EXC): EXC stock is up 2.5% today.

Some of the biggest losers among utilities stocks include:

• Western Gas Partners LP (WES): WES stock is down 0.9% today.

• Energy Transfer Equity LP (ETE): ETE stock is down 0.1% today.
