PayPal Expands Free Returns Service

PayPal (PYPL) is expanding its free returns service to include the cost of shipping.

paypal-free-returns-pyplPayPal is making it so that customers can return certain items without having to pay for the shipping fee between October 12, 2015 to January 31, 2016. The company is doing this to help promote more online purchases by removing the concern of having to pay to ship back an item that wasn’t as described or just didn’t work out.

PayPal’s free returns service will be limited to four items during the above mentioned time. Customers have to opt into the service if they want to use it to return items for free. Sellers don’t have to do anything to sign up for the service and it won’t affect their return process.

PayPal’s free returns service is available in the United States and roughly 40 other countries. The return service limits the amount available on refunded shipping to $30 for each return made. Customers that order large gifts and send them back may find that the offer won’t cover all the costs of shipping.
