apple-rumors-self-healing-ports-patent-aaplTV: A new rumor claims that Apple’s (AAPL) TV streaming service has been put on hold, reports MacRumors. According to the rumor, the tech company had to halt its plans due to conflicts with content providers. The exact conflicts are unknown, but it’s believed that it could be related to pricing for the content. There’s also speculation that it may have had something to do with content providers being unwilling to split up bundled channels. The tech company is reportedly still interested in the streaming service, but will now shift focus to its TV App Store.

GPU: Apple is rumored to be working on its own mobile GPU, AppleInsider notes. According to this rumor, AAPL has been working on an in-house mobile GPU for the last few years, but has been keeping the project under wraps. It’s unknown when exactly the company would start using its own GPUs in mobile devices, or if the project will be completed. However, it’s possible that the company will continue to get GPUs from Imagination Technologies, which it has a 10% stake in.

Patent: Apple has filed a patent for self-healing ports, reports 9to5Mac. The patent details a system where ports on devices would be covered by elastomer that seals the ports off from water when nothing is plugged in. However, the elastomer would be pushed out of the way when plugs are inserted into the ports. After removing plugs, the elastomer would heal to cover up the ports again. This could be used in future devices from the company to protect them from water damage.
