According to The Wall Street Journal, a new Amazon Echo, code named “Fox”, is currently in the works and will be released in the next few weeks. This new version of Echo would be smaller and wouldn’t cost as much as its larger $180 sibling, but will also lack some features.

The current version of the Amazon Echo needs to be plugged into a power outlet, but it can perform a variety of tasks, such as controlling devices in the home. It’s believed that this new Echo will be much more portable and will include a charging dock, reports WSJ.

The Amazon Echo has a variety of apps and devices that work with it. You can learn more about the home assistant here.
