macOS Sierra Launch: AAPL has released macOS Sierra for its Mac and MacBook computers, reports AppleInsider. The new software update brings several new features to Macs. This includes virtual assistant Siri, which was previously only available on the company’s mobile devices. Mac owners running macOS Sierra now also have the option of logging into their device with their Apple Watch. There have also been updates to include more cross-platform features with iOS. The new operating system update also includes several fixes for glitches.
Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter Teardown: A teardown of AAPL’s Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter has been posted online, MacRumors notes. The new teardown gives AAPL fans a look at what makes the adapter work. It shows that the device includes a digital-to-analog converter, which is what many were expecting from the tech company. There is no way to identify the manufacturer of the adapter, but it was most likely Cirrus Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRUS).
iPhone 7 Lightning EarPods Glitch: Apple is working on a fix for a glitch with its Lightning EarPods, reports Business Insider. Several iPhone 7 owners have reported that the control piece for the Lightning Earpods becomes unresponsive after a few minutes of use with the iPhone 7. This means that users can’t use the device to access Siri, adjust volume or answer calls. However, audio will continue to come through the headphones. Unplugging and plugging the Lightning EarPods back in is a temporary solution to the problem. AAPL said an upcoming software update will include a more permanent solution to the problem.
