The 2017 Jeep Compass was shown off at a factory in Brazil late on Monday. The 2017 version of the compact SUV has been redesigned from the version that was originally introduced roughly 10 years ago. The new vehicle will replace the current Compass line, as well as the Jeep Patriot line in the United States.

There wasn’t much in the way of information revealed during the announcement event for the 2017 Jeep Compass. What is known is that there will be “17 different fuel-efficient engine and transmission combinations” available to customers purchasing the new SUV.

Fiat Chrysler said that it plans to reveal more details about the 2017 Jeep Compass at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. When it comes to appearances, the new compact SUV has an exterior that looks like a smaller Grand Cherokee. It’s interior is similar in design to the Jeep Renegade, reports the Associated Press.

It was originally thought that the 2017 Jeep Compass would make its debut at the New York Auto Show

that took place earlier this year. However, Fiat Chrysler chose to show the new SUV off at the factory in Brazil because that is where it will be made.

Fiat Chrysler is moving production of the Jeep Compass from Belvidere, Ill., to Brazil. The Belvidere plant will be retooled to manufacture the Jeep Cherokee, which is having production moved there from Toledo, Ohio. The Toledo plant will increase Jeep Wrangler production after this.

FCAU stock was down 1% as of Tuesday afternoon.
