National Coffee Day 2016 will take place this Thursday, Sept. 29.

National Coffee Day 2016 will have several coffee chains celebrating with discounts and freebies for customers. Some major coffee stores that are taking part in the promotion include Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX), Dunkin Brands Group Inc (NASDAQ:DNKN) and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD).

Starbucks will be donating coffee trees to help combat coffee rust in Latin America for National Coffee Day 2016. It will donate one tree for each purchase of a brewed Mexico Chiapas coffee made at its stores. There will be 13,5000 SBUX locations across the United States and Mexico that will be selling the Mexico Chiapas coffee.

Dunkin’ Donuts is using National Coffee Day 2016 to celebrate the business’ 66th anniversary. To mark the occasion, it will be selling discounted coffee to customers in the United States. Customers that stop in at participating DNKN locations on Thursday can get any medium-sized cup of the chain’s hot coffee for just 66 cents.

Krispy Kreme is celebrating National Coffee Day 2016 by giving free food and drink to its customers. Stopping in at a participating KKD locations in the United States on Thursday will net visitors one free Original Glazed Doughnut and a free 12 oz cup of coffee.

There are many other coffee chains that are offering discounts or freebies to customers on National Coffee Day 2016. However, many of them may only be available in certain areas of the United States.
