United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) will be hiring 95,000 employees to help with the 2016 holiday season.
The jobs that will be available to seasonal employees will include both part-time and full-time hours. The majority of the people being hired will work as package handlers, drivers and driver-helpers for the shipping company.
UPS also notes that seasonal employees have an opportunity of finding long-time employment with the company. It said that 37% of seasonal employees that were hired from 2012 to 2014 went on to have permanent jobs with it.
“For many it’s an opportunity to earn some extra cash for the holidays,” UPS CEO David Abney, who got his start loading trucks for the company in 1974, said in a statement. “But with many of our holiday hires getting permanent jobs with us, it can also be a gateway to a career.”
UPS said that it will be recruiting employees from college campuses during the Fall. These recruiting events will take place at college football games. Those interested can also apply for a job with the company at this link.
