Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) has announced plans to hire some 70,000 workers for the 2016 holiday season.

Taret, Target Hiring, TGTTarget is planning to hire 70,00 employees at its 1,800 stores across the United states for the 2016 holiday season. It also is looking to fill 7,500 seasonal positions at its distribution and fulfillment facilities.

Target will be holding hiring events at all of its stores in the United States on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15. The company has the full list of open positions on its website. Those interested have the option of applying online or showing up at their local store to apply.

This marks the fourth year in a row that the retailer has hired 70,000 seasonal workers for the holidays. The company is hoping to get employees hired and trained before the holiday shopping madness starts.

Target employees that are already with the company will also have the option of picking up additional hours during the holiday season. They will get first pick when it comes to grabbing extra time on the clock.

The retail company said it needed the additional help in its distribution and fulfillment facilities this year due to an increase in online orders. It claims that 30% of all purchases now happen via its website.

While Target is keeping a brave face about its seasonal sales, the company is expecting less than last year. It said it expects comparable sales to be down by 2% or remain unchanged when compared to last year.

Target has seen a decline in shoppers lately. This started happening after the company announced its bathroom policy concerning transgender customers and the boycott that followed.
