The new War for the Planet of the Apes trailer is here.
The new teaser for the film is being released by 20th Century Fox and it is being featured today in a New York Comic Con panel. The trailer is foreboding with its warning, but it offers no footage from the film.
Clocking in at 30 seconds long, it shows Caesar — played by Andy Serkis — appearing in the snow and issuing a warning about a war that is about to begin, possibly between the humans and the apes.
Andy Serkis is known for playing roles in live-action films as creatures other than humans, including Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He is a snowy ape in War for the Planet of the Apes.
The Comic Con panel will include the versatile actor, as well as Matt Reeves, producer Dylan Clark and possibly some scenes from the film. The film is the third in the reboot of the classic film Planet of the Apes.
“Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel,” reads the synopsis. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins this own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.”
