Domino’s Pizza, Inc. (NYSE:DPZ) is getting into the holiday spirit with a unique method of getting food from the store to your house with an animal.

Domino'sThe pizza chain will now be delivering pizza in Japan using reindeer to carry and drop the pizza off at your doorstep. The bizarre move is an homage to Santa Claus and his reindeers delivering gifts to children on Christmas.

It comes as no surprise that Japan is the country that is testing the product as the Asian nation has always been among the most creative countries in the world when it comes to advertising and advancing a product.

Check out a video of Domino’s testing its pizza-delivering reindeer. The video shows employees leading the reindeer around in order to train them for the job at a parking lot. They are equipped with the company’s delivery bag attached to their back.

A smartphone helps workers in the restaurant keep track of the animal with GPS capabilities. It appears as if the move is still a while away from working entirely as the test has failed to gain traction with reindeer dropping the bag on the ground.

Domino’s has been looking for new ways to promote its products over the last few months, including the addition of an all-emoji menu that allows you to order pizza using an emoji.

DPZ shares gained 0.5% Tuesday.
