The new headquarters is going by the name Amazon HQ2. The online retailer announced the news earlier this month and released a list of requirements and preferences that it has. It also started taking applications from cities at this time.

News that Amazon is looking to build a second headquarters has many cities vying for its attention. However, there are only a few that will meet the company’s needs. Several publications are weighing in on the options and we’re looking at those with the best chance of landing the new headquarters.

According to BloombergView, there are six possible cities that are most likely to become the home of the Amazon’s second quarters. These cities are Toronto, Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Dallas and Denver.

The reason BloombergView sees these as the most likely candidates for Amazon HQ2 has to do with several factors. This includes their size, talent pool, connections to international airports and more.

CityLab is also weighing in on the Amazon HQ2 contenders and it has four cities that it believes are strong choices. These are the cities of Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. The reasons given here are mostly the same as those given by BloombergView. The list even shares two cities with the other publication’s.

The Seattle Times, a publication that shares a hometown with Amazon, lists three cities as the top contenders for the second headquarters. These cities are Toronto, Denver and Dallas-Fort Worth. Yet again, we’re seeing repeats from the previous two lists.

As of this writing, William White did not hold a position in any of the aforementioned securities.
