Leading the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) rumor mill today is the launch of iOS 11.1. Today, we’ll look at that and other Apple Rumors for Tuesday.
iOS 11.1: The launch of iOS 11.1 brings loads of new content to Apple’s mobile devices, reports AppleInsider. The new update for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners brings more than 70 new emoji with it. It also includes the app switcher gesture for 3D Touch. This was missing from the previous version due to some issues. Several other bug fixes and quality of life changes are also present in the new update. The release of iOS 11.1 to the public brings an end to the beta testing of the mobile operating system. This comes just one day after AAPL sent out the first developer beta for iOS 11.2.
watchOS 4.1: Apple Watch owners can now download watchOS 4.1, MacRumors notes. This new update includes two major additions for the device. The first is the introduction of Apple Music streaming over LTE. There’s also a new Radio app that lets users access several streaming stations from the device. Directly streaming music to the smartwatch requires a Watch Series 3 due to needing an LTE connection. The update can be downloaded via a paired iPhone.
tvOS 11.1: The tvOS 11.1 is now available for download, reports 9to5Mac. Unlike the other two updates we’ve talked about today, this one doesn’t bring any new features with it. Instead, the focus is on fixing bugs and increasing the security of the company’s set-top boxes. This update is only available for the fourth generation of the TV and the recently released 4K version.
