Customers in Canada may be able to purchase weed at Walmart (NYSE:WMT) in the future.

While the idea of buying weed at Walmart may have some customers excited, there’s still no confirmation that the retail chain will carry weed products. However, the company does note that it is looking into selling weed products.

According to Walmart spokeswoman Diane Medeiros, the company is considering selling weed products in the same way it would any new category of goods. There are two types of weed products that WMT may choose to sell. They include CBD products and THC products, reports Bloomberg.

CBD is the most likely candidate to make it on to Walmart shelves. This is the chemical from weed that doesn’t have any psychoactive elements. That means customers don’t have to worry about getting a “high” when using it.

THC is probably closer to the weed at Walmart candidate that most people will think of. This is the element of weed that does give a psychoactive effect. This is responsible for the “high” that people are referring to when smoking weed.

No matter what element of weed customers are looking for, they’ll have to wait for it to show up at Walmart. The retailer notes that it currently doesn’t have any plans to sell CBD oil products or medical marijuana.

While there aren’t plans to sell weed at Walmart anytime soon, that could change. WMT doesn’t say this is the case, but it’s possible enough demand could result in it carrying cannabis products.
