Leading the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) rumor mill today is news of support for NFC tags. Today, we’ll look at that and other Apple Rumors for Tuesday.
NFC Tags: Apple is supporting the use of NFC tags with its payment service, reports MacRumors. These NFC tags allow users to simply make payments via Pay by tapping their phone to them. It doesn’t require them to have a corresponding app downloaded to use the service. This makes it easier to have Pay locations set up at different areas. One example of this would be using Pay for parking meters.
App Store: AAPL isn’t happy with the recent ruling from the Supreme Court, 9to5Mac notes. The tech company argues that the App Store does not represent a monopoly. The Supreme Court ruling only allows cases against the tech company to move forward. It does not rule on if the App Store is a monopoly.
Empty Box: One man has been caught taking part in an empty-box scheme that targeted Apple, reports AppleInsider. The man sent in complaints for other customers claiming that they had received empty boxes instead of products. This had the money being refunded by AAPL. The man behind the scheme then hid this money across multiple bank accounts. He costs the company roughly 1$ million before being caught.
