App Developers Remain Focused on iOS: A study issued by Flurry Analytics today found that for every 10 apps created by developers, about seven are for Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS, with apps for Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG
) Android making up most of the rest, MacRumors says. Flurry based its study on more than 18,000 downloads of the software development kits for its analytics tools. Android made some progress, reaching 30% of developer interest for the first time during the first quarter.
73% of U.S. iPhone Purchasers Choose 4S Model: A survey from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) reveals that almost three-quarters of American iPhone buyers chose to purchase Apple’s newest model, the 4S, Apple Insider notes. Some 50% of iPhone 4S buyers opted for the 16GB version, which is the cheapest, while 34% purchased the 32GB version, and 16% opted for the most expensive 64GB model. The study also found that 38% of iPhone buyers said they had switched from a BlackBerry or Android phone.
Workers Riot at Foxconn’s Chengdu Factory: Reports from Chinese sources say workers at Foxconn’s manufacturing plant in Chengdu, China, clashed violently with security guards on Monday night, WantChinaTimes reports. The riot, which involved hundreds of workers from one of the factory’s dormitories, was used to vent anger at “prior grievances.” Factory officials called local police, who arrested “dozens” of workers in the aftermath of the incident.
