Apple (AAPL) claims that iCloud and Find My iPhone services aren’t to blame for the celebrity nude photos leaks.
According to a statement released by Apple, it spent more than 40 hours investigating the celebrity nude photos leaks and its services aren’t to blame for them. Instead, the company points to a very targeted attack made by hackers to guess usernames, password and security questions.
In its statement, Apple said that none of the accounts that it has investigated were affected by a security breach. The company is still working with law enforcement officials to discover who was behind the attack.
Apple advises users of its services to make sure that they have strong passwords and security questions for their accounts. It also advises users to take advantage of its two-step verification process for added security.
AAPL shares were down 3% as of Wednesday afternoon.
