Chris Buck, the director behind Disney’s (DIS) Frozen, has linked Tarzan to Anna and Elsa.
Buck told fans during a Reddit AMA last year that Anna and Elsa’s parent didn’t die in Frozen, but that they ended up in a jungle with a little boy, build a tree house and get killed by a leopard. If that sounds a bit ridiculous to you, there’s a good reason why, reports USA Today.
The Frozen director recently revealed the origin of the story. It turns out that it comes from his ramblings during his spare time while making the movie. It’s nothing canon and he even went so far as to say that, in his mind, there are surfing penguins on the other side of the island that Anna and Elsa’s parents land on, which is a nod to non-Disney film Surfs Up
, USA Today notes.
While Buck’s recent destruction of the Tarzan and Frozen connection may leave some Disney fans disappointed, there are still other theories out there. One such theory claims that Anna and Elsa’s parents were on their way to Rapunzel’s wedding from Tangled, but that the ship wrecked and can be seen at the bottom of the ocean in The Little Mermaid, reports CNN.
