Apple Rumors Patent Voice Authentication aaplTV: Vital Signs, the rumored TV show staring Dr. Dre, will be used to market Apple (AAPL) Music, reports Recode. The publication cites unnamed individuals that are close to the matter. The new show is reportedly going to be less of a TV series and more of a way for the company to promote its music streaming service. This makes sense as AAPL has already been working to promote Music through videos, but it’s a little less exciting than hearing that the tech company was really dipping its toes into TV.

Patent: Apple has filed a patent for voice authentication, International Business Times notes. The new patent, which is titled “Device Access Using Voice Authentication” was granted to the company by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. It describes a method in which owners of one of its mobile devices can use their voices to access their smartphones. Specifically, users could request access to certain features while still leaving the rest of the device locked. The patent would compare the spoken words to previous voice clips for authentication and may require a passcode or fingerprint if that fails. It’s unknown if this feature will be included in APPL’s future devices.

iPhone: Apple’s iPhone 7 may have more electromagnetic interference shielding for single chips, reports MacRumors. it’s currently believed that StatsChipPac and Amkor (AMKR) are working on the electromagnetic shielding for the iPhone 7. AAPL reportedly wants to provide single-chip electromagnetic shielding to Bluetooth, wireless LAN and other chips inside its iPhone 7. This would better protect wireless signals coming and going from the tech company’s devices.
