Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN) and Madewell have partnered up to release a collection of denim products in Nordstrom locations.
At least 20 stores in North America will carry the new line of jeans, jean jackets, plaid button-downs and elaborate dresses. There will be more than 75 Nordstrom stores in Canada and the U.S. that sell Madewell products.
The apparel manufacturer — which has been around for about 80 years — consists almost exclusively on jeans, offering a slate of products that a people with varied interests can enjoy, including tote bags, boots and comfy tees. #everydaymadewell is their hashtag.
Nordstrom has been around since 1901, when it started out as a footwear store. The Seattle-based company has more than 300 stores in North America, most of which are Nordstrom Rack stores, which sell items on clearance.
On Tuesday, Madewell announced a campaign to sell as much denim products as possible over a three-and-a-half week period, or 24 days. The initiative is called “Denim Every Day,” and it includes a jumpsuit that Gwyneth Paltrow chose for the company’s partnership with Goop.
The selection also includes a series of pairs of jeans that are designed for mothers and soon-to-be parents. “As a new mom, I’m particularly proud to be launching our first maternity jean, which is exactly what I was looking for when I was pregnant with my now one-year-old daughter,” said Joyce Lee, who leads design at the company.
JWN shares slipped 2.7% after the bell Wednesday.
