Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock Is Coming Back to HBO

TV show Fraggle Rock is being released in a new platform.

Subscribers of HBO and its numerous services will be happy to hear that the children’s show is being re-released on the network. Additionally, Fraggle Rock has been remastered to make it more visually stunning.

The new version has been digitally remastered in HD, featuring sharper images, better contrast, more vibrant colors and a reissue to appease widescreen TVs.

“We’ll engage a whole new audience who will love meeting the Fraggles, Gorgs, and Doozers.,” said Richard Goldsmith, EVP of Global Distribution for The Jim Henson Company.

The show ran for 96 episodes over the span of five seasons. It was first released in 1983, proving to be an educational and entertaining show.

A Fraggle Rock movie was in the works or in discussions at one point, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring in the film.

The show consists of a live action show that appears to be animated due to the fact that the main characters are all puppets. The series is different from similar shows such as Sesame Street

as it was always intended to reach a wide audience around the world.

Different versions of Fraggle Rock used different voiceover characters, even in the situations where the same language was spoken in numerous markets, such as the U.S., Canada and the UK.

Expect it to be in HBO over the coming days.
