Martin actor Tommy Ford is dead at the age of 52.
The cause of death for Tommy Ford wasn’t announced. However, his family did report over the weekend that he was on life support. The reason for this was an aneurysm burst that occurred in his abdomen.
According to TMZ, the family made the decision to take Tommy Ford off of life support on Wednesday. He passed away that day while in a hospital in Atlanta. Several family and friends were present at the time of death.
Tommy Ford’s family said he was a “beloved son, father, brother, husband and friend,” and thanked everyone for their support during his passing. They also requested privacy while they mourn his passing and prepare for the funeral.
Tommy Ford had made several appearances as an actor during his life. He also wrote children’s books, produced movies and worked in theater. His website says his goal was to do more work without being in front of the camera, reports USA Today.
“My brother…we were friends way b4 the Martin show & I’m glad we were able to show true friendship on-screen,” Martin Lawrence, the star of the Martin TV show, said in an Instagram post. “You brought a lot of love to the world and you will be greatly missed. God Bless to you and the family. Rest In Peace my brother. #TommyFord #Brotherforlife”
