Motorola’s New Structure Taking Shape Before Spinoff (MOT, APPL, GOOG)
Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) is preparing to split itself in half next year when a spinoff of its smartphones business operating on the Google Andoid OS among others is planned. Some the MOT stock split are finding their way out into public. The two halves, one to be called Motorola Mobility and the other Motorola Solutions, do not get to divvy up MOT stock assets equally before the spinoff and the company splits is smartphones such as the Droid from other operations.
Sprint Plans Wireless Gadget Binge (S, T, WMT, APPL)
Sprint Nextel Inc. (NYSE: S) plans to release a variety of wireless gadgets and smartphones that will compete with the Google Android OS, Droid smartphones, and the Apple iphone. Sprint electronics device plans include tablet computers, e-readers, and video game devices.

Dell Reserves $100 Million to Settle SEC Case (DELL, INTC, AMD)
After the markets closed yesterday, Dell Computer Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL) announced that the company had recorded a $100 million liability in its first fiscal quarter of 2011, ended April 30, 2010, "to establish a reserve for the potential settlement by the company of the previously reported SEC investigation." The investigation began in 2005 and is believed to be tied to an investigation into anti-competitive practices by Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC). The SEC action against Intel alleges that the chip maker broke anti-trust laws by offering large cash rebates to computer makers that used its processors. The alleged rebates were supposedly paid to stem computer maker purchases of chips from Intel rival Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE: AMD).
Hulu Hits Video Game Consoles as it Moves Towards Subscription-Based Format
Online TV show repository Hulu is coming to Micrsoft's (MSFT) Xbox 360 and Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPad in addition to other consumer electronic devices according to a report from Reuters. The spread of the web video joint venture owned by News Corp (NWS), General Electric (GE) subsidiary NBC Universal and Walt Disney (DI) owned network ABC, will coincide with its shift to a subscription pay model according to Reuters' two unnamed sources. Hulu has been purely advertisement supported since its launch in 2008, a business model that earned the website an estimated $100 million in fiscal year 2009.
