Supervalu (SVU) has filed a form for the possible spinoff of Save-A-Lot.
Supervalu filed a Form 10 Registration Statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which could see Save-A-Lot be separated into its own company. While this is progress toward a spinoff, there’s still no guarantee it will occur.
The Form 10 filing with the SEC can bee seen here. It was filed on Thursday and was accepted later that day. It’s made up of 13 different documents in relation to the potential spinoff of Save-A-Lot.
Supervalu has 3,395 stores in the United States and 1,342 of them are Save-A-Lot stores. It has annual sales of $18 billion and employs 40,000 people.
