The first full week of the third quarter was fairly quiet after the fireworks that took over the first half of the year. The S&P 500 finished with a small weekly gain as it continues to consolidate. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq hit yet another all-time high today as tech stocks remain strong.
In this week’s episode of MoneyLine, I break down the action in the market and, more importantly, look ahead at what to expect over the next few months.
First up is the second-quarter earnings season, which gets underway next week. It could be a catalyst for several big moves – in either direction. The rise in COVID-19 cases is worrisome, but I look at herd immunity and have a positive view on the current numbers. And then there’s that little thing called the presidential election on the horizon. I’ll give you my thoughts on how each could affect stocks.
Let’s just say… you better buckle up folks!
The electric vehicle sector has been one of the hottest investments in the market over the last few months, and my subscribers know exactly what I’m talking about. (Wink, wink!) I break down the biggest moves and what we should be looking at now. Then, I pivot slightly to talk about an overlooked sector that has direct ties to electric vehicles – batteries.
Speaking of hot investments, the only thing hotter than electric vehicles right now is altcoins. The smaller cryptocurrencies exploded higher this week, and our Ultimate Crypto portfolio is rocking as a result. More on that in the podcast.
Then, it’s on to the new highlight of the show. It’s a segment I’m calling “Making Money with Matt McCall,” and I think you’re going to like it.
Just like in last week’s debut, I cover about 20 stocks that YOU requested via Twitter. (If you want to ask about a stock for next week, follow me @MatthewMcCall.) This week’s focus is on 5G, precious metals, biotech, the work-from-home trend, and special purpose acquisition corporations (SPACs). A SPAC is a publicly traded vehicle that raises money to invest in a specific type of business, kind of like a blank check company. You might be surprised to learn what companies are going public via them right about now.

Have a great weekend, and keep staying safe.
P.S. At the heart of the shift toward electric and autonomous vehicles is one tiny company that owns critical patents to the solid state battery.
This company is just a fraction of the size of General Motors (GM), and its patents have already been granted in six major automotive markets across the globe. It has even already signed deals with several major auto manufacturers.
I believe it’s only a matter of time before this tiny company at the epicenter of the solid state technology revolution becomes a household name.

huge investment opportunities right now:
The next trillion-dollar companies – the next Amazon, the next Google, etc. – are being hatched in research facilities and garages around the world. These firms will further change the world and revolutionize our economy.
Just as Apple, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft can’t function without the internet, the next generation of world-changing, $1 trillion mega winners can’t survive without the subject of this report… the super powerful infrastructure technology we call “5G.” Learn more here.
The car as we know it is on the verge of a transformative change not seen since Karl Benz invented it nearly 135 years ago. In fact, the whole transportation sector is now poised for its version of 2.0.
I’m not exaggerating when I say this will lead to trillions of dollars in money sloshing around in the coming decades. What is coming will create one of the five biggest investment opportunities you’ll ever see in your life, no matter when you were born. Learn more here.
The next big breakthrough in battery technology is an innovation that will have multi-trillion-dollar economic implications. I can tell you this mega innovation isn’t a matter of “if,” it’s a matter of “when,” and I believe it will go down as one of the greatest inventions of the 21st century.
Those on the right side of this innovation stand to build incredible wealth… just like people did from the creation of the internet and the smartphone. Think of this as your “field guide” for profiting from the next big battery breakthrough. Learn more here.
