Ever wonder what the hedge fund billionaires are buying?
It’s always fascinating to see where the “big money” is going. To be honest, my newsletter portfolios are doing better than the hedge funds, but I still like to see what they’re investing in. In my new MoneyLine podcast today, I take a look at two big hedge funds and tell you a few of the stocks they’ve been buying.
In fact, have you ever watched the show Billions on Showtime? If so, the lead character is hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod. That character is loosely based on real-life hedge fund billionaire Steve Cohen.
The most recent filing shows that Cohen’s fund has been buying a microcap biotech stock, which I find very interesting. I reveal the name of the company and tell you my view on it on today’s MoneyLine.
Another legend in the hedge fund world is Julian Robertson, who started Tiger Global years ago. The global management firm manages $36 billion, and it has used some of that money to increase its position in a work-from-home play and initiate a position in a new cloud-based IPO. I dive into both stocks.
Then, we go from the billionaires to the average investors looking to build their wealth. Many have turned to the free stock trading app Robinhood. I look at the top holdings of the firm’s clients in the podcast, and you may be surprised at what they are buying. Some are good… and some are bad. Really bad.
Finally, I look at an ETF that is up 87% in 2020! With that kind of return, it’s one of the top ETFs of the year so far… and I’ll bet you’ll be surprised to find out the niche sector it focuses on. It’s one that I follow closely. I’ll talk about some of the ETF’s top holdings – quite a few of which we have exposure to in our newsletters.
