How Much a Cup of Coffee With Apple’s CEO Costs

Tim_Cook_2009_croppedFans of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) have a chance to make a charitable contribution and win a meeting with the company’s CEO.

People can bid on the a meeting over coffee with Tim Cook on CharityBuzz.com. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. In addition to the donation, the winner will have to be cleared by security before he or she gets to share a cup of coffee with Apple’s top executive, Bloomberg notes.

The winner and a guest will have coffee with Cook at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The meeting is billed as lasting between 30 minutes and one hour. CharityBuzz advises bidders to display “polite manners and respect” for Cook during the meeting. The winner is also prohibited from photographing or recording the meeting.

Cook succeeded late Apple co-founded Steve Jobs in 2011. Under his leadership Apple stock hit a high above $700 a share last fall, but has since tumbled, falling about 40%.

The company had placed an estimated value of $50,000 on the meeting. However, as of Thursday morning, bidding on the meeting had reached $180,000.

Iconic investor Warren Buffett has raised money for the Glide Foundation by auctioning an annual dinner with himself for more than a decade.

Shares of Apple climbed 1% in Thursday morning trading.
