Google (GOOG) is working on a new WiFi app that could automatically sign users into the company’s hotspots.

GOOG-stock-google-wifi-appThe Google WiFi app is currently being developed for both Android and Apple’s (AAPL) iOS. The company already has these versions running and they are able to connect to Google WiFi located in Starbucks (SBUX). The app makes it possible to connect to WiFi in the restaurant without ever having to go through the sign-in process, reports Engadget.

The app is only being tested at the moment and there is no news on if Google plans to release it to the public. There is however talk that Google could connect the app to the 7,000 Starbucks stores located in the United States that switched from AT&T (T) to Google for free WiFi, Engadget notes.

If Google’s test of the app is successful and it releases it to the public, users in other areas with Google WiFi may be able to use the app to automatically log in.
