Jennifer Lopez was scheduled to perform the World Cup 2014 opening song ,We Are One, with rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte. The exact reason behind her absence isn’t known and has only been referred to as “production issues.” As a result, Pitbull and Leitte will perform the song without Lopez at the opening ceremony on Thursday, reports People Magazine.

Many Brazilian fans are disappointed in the choice of song for the opening ceremony of the World Cup 2014. These fans claim that the song is too generic and that it has too many foreign lyrics. Most of the song is in English and Spanish and only a few lines by Leitte will be sung in Portuguese, The New York Daily News notes.

Daphne Cornez, the artistic director for the World Cup 2014, doesn’t agree with these comments. Instead, Cornez claims that the song is a “tribute to Brazil” and that it represents the country’s treasures “nature, people, football,” reports People Magazine.
