Five Twilight short films, which will be part of The Storytellers — New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga, are set to show up on Facebook (FB) sometime next year.
Each of the Twilight short films will be directed by a female director and will be available only on Facebook. The short films won’t likely be a retelling of the movies and will instead be short stories based on characters from the series, reports The New York Times.
Lions Gate Entertainment (LGF) will be footing the bill for the Twilight short films and is working with Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight novels, on the project. It’s unlikely that Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart will return for the films, but Stewart will act as a judge of the films alongside Meyer, NYT notes.
“We’re delighted to expand our longstanding relationship with Stephenie and confident that her participation in the ‘Twilight’ short films campaign will add an exciting new dimension to the incredible world she has created as an author and producer,” Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lions Gate, told Huffington Post.
