Google (GOOG) has deleted “tens of thousands” of celebrity nude pics, according to the company.

GoogleThe tech giant claims it deleted these images within hours of requests being made to do so. Google has also closed hundreds of accounts that violated users’ privacy.

The company is facing a $100 million lawsuit headed by Martin Singer, who represents several unnamed clients–probably celebrities. He claims Google didn’t do enough to stop the images from spreading.

The tech company said its response to such matters usually happens within hours, not weeks. Google issued the following statement on the matter:

Of course people continue to post these images on the web, so – like other online services – we rely on people notifying us to help us take them down, whether by flagging content, or filing DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) requests.

GOOG stock is up about 1.15% Friday afternoon.
