Tesla Motors (TSLA) has announced a press event for October 9 to show off its new Tesla Model D.
The Tesla Model D event will be held in Los Angeles, Calif., at the Hawthorne Airpot. The event will start at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time. It’s unknown exactly what the new vehicle will be and TSLA CEO Elon Musk has said there will be another surprise revealed at the event, reports Tech Crunch.
Speculation has been surrounding the Tesla Model D and there are several theories as to what it could be. Some think the D stands for “Dual Motors” and that it will be an all-wheel drive version of the Model S. Others think that it could be a completely new vehicle in the company’s line, TechCrunch notes.
Following Musk’s post about the Tesla Model D on Twitter (TWTR), several people started commenting about what it could be. The CEO got a kick out of the guesses said they “had me literally ROFL.”
TSLA stock was up 1% as of Friday afternoon.
