McDonald’s (MCD) has revealed what goes in to making its McRib.

mcdonald's-mcrib-mcdMcDonald’s treated former MythBusters star Grant Imahara and Wes Bellamy, a high school teacher that spoke out against the McRib, to one of its plants to see how it creates the seasonal sandwich. The trip was part of the company’s “Our Food. Your Questions” campaign, which is designed to dispel myths about its products, reports Cnet.

What the two men saw at the McDoanld’s facility was that the McRib is made up of pork, water, salt, dextrose and some preservatives. The mixture is pressed by a machine to give it the rib shape and is then flash froze. The two men tried the sandwich and Bellamy said he enjoyed it, Cnet notes.

“This looks a lot different from a picture that I saw on Twitter,” Bellamy told Time. “So that’s how you keep it tasty like my Grandma’s barbecue!”

MCD shares were up slightly as of Tuesday afternoon.

The video of the two men’s trip to learn about the McRib can be seen below.
