Facebook (FB) is working on a tool that could protect users from posting drunken selfies.
The Facebook tool would basically be an artificial intelligence that looks over picture for users before they post them. The AI could essentially look over a picture with possibly embarrassing parts and determine if the user was drunk when it was taken, reports The Guardian.
The Facebook AI would use facial recognition technology similar to what it already uses for picking a user’s face out in a crowd. This technology would be a bit more advanced and could scan a user in a picture to determine if they are drunk or not, Wired notes.
The AI would do more than just check photos, it could also act as a digital assistant to users of the site. This would allow it to check on everything a user does on the website and offer its help when it can. The project is being worked on by Yann LeCun, the chief of the company’s AI research lab, reports The Guardian.
