Google (GOOG) Glass sales will end on Jan. 19, 2015.

According to a blog post from Google, it has moved Google Glass out of the beta stage and will continue to work on the project. The change will have the wearable tech moving from the Google X labs to becoming its own separate team at Google.

Google says that it’s closing the Google Glass Explorer program as part of its transition. It also said that there will be new versions of the wearable tech and that they’ll be shown off when they’re ready.

Google Glass has had its opponents since its release. The smartglasses have been banned in all movie theaters across the United States. It has also faced bans in some companies, strip clubs, restaurants, casinos and other places.
