Apple had to delay shipments of the Apple Watch due to the taptic engine, which alerts wears of notifications, in many of the devices wearing out over time. There were two suppliers for this component of the Watch and the ones supplied by AAC Technologies Holdings Inc. were behind the problem, reports USA Today.

The faulty Apple Watch component meant that the tech company had to scrap quite a few finished devices. This also explains why many customers are having to wait until summer to get their hands on the smartwatch. Apple has been unwilling to confirm that a faulty part is responsible for delays, USA Today.

Apple Watch owners don’t have to worry about their devices breaking on them because of this issue. Apple didn’t allow any of the faulty smartwatches to be sold. This means there are no plans, or need, for a recall of the device. reports Fortune.

One problem that some Apple Watch owners are facing is the device being unable to sense that they are wearing it. This problem is coming from people with tattoos around their wrist, which doesn’t allow the devices’ sensors to pick up their heartbeat.
