Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is planning to make some major changes to its Notifications.
According to Mashable, Facebook is looking to introduce a Notifications tab that will bring relevant content from across the social media platform to one place. This new tab will contain eight different types of Notification, including Birthdays, Life Events, Events, Nearby Places, Trending Topics, News Shared Locally, Today in the Past and Nearby Friends.
The new changes to Notifications will allow users of Facebook to adjust how much content they see and from where. It’s expected to be tested in the United States first before being released to the rest of the world. However, the social media company hasn’t announced a release date for the update, reports Mashable.
Facebook announced last month that its also planning to bring changes to its Messenger app. These changes would include adding third-party support to the messaging service.
