Facebook Messenger games are one of the possibilities that are now open to third-party developers. FB has confirmed that it’s in talks with several developers to have them release games on the app, but it hasn’t revealed when users can expect these games to start showing up, reports Mashable.

It’s currently unknown what kind of games could be incorporated into Facebook Messenger. However, the social media company is obviously interested in keeping users on the app as long as possible. The FB Messenger app has 600 million users and has seen several new features, such as video calls, introduced recently, Mashable notes.

FB could benefit from adding games to its Messenger app by collecting fees from in-game transactions. Users of the app could use the company’s “Payments” feature to buy their digital goods and Facebook would benefit, reports PC World.
