JetBlue Flights Offer Free Wi-Fi for Amazon Prime Members

JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) is offering free Wi-Fi to members of Amazon.com, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Prime service.

The free Wi-Fi offer means that these members can watch a variety of movies and TV shows, as well as stream music, during flights, reports USA Today.

JetBlue’s free Wi-Fi for Amazon Prime members is part of its Fly-Fi plan, which uses satellite internet.  It’s free to all travelers, but extreme data consuming activities, such as movie streaming, typically comes with a fee. The internet runs at 12Mbps to 20 Mbps and Prime members can views content on their smartphones, tablets,  laptops and seatback TVs, USA Today notes.

Use of Amazon Prime services on JetBlue requires an account with the online retailer. This will cost $99 a year. Also, passengers on these flights will be able to purchase apps, e-books and music from Amazon during the flight, reports Cnet.
