Fallout Shelter, a new mobile game from Bethesda, is now the most popular game in Apple’s (AAPL) App Store.
Fallout Shelter currently holds the rank of 18th most popular free app on the App Store. However, all of the apps above it are related to social media, videos and other tools for mobile devices.
Fallout Shelter was released on June 15, 2015 and takes up 200MB of space. The game puts players in the role of an overseer that has to manage “a state-of-the-art underground Vault” filled with survivors from a nuclear apocalypse.
To play Fallout Shelter, users need to own at least an iPhone 5, iPad 3, or iPad mini 2. the game requires at least iOS 7 to run and is optimized for use on the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2.
Fans of the Fallout series that own a device running Google (GOOG,GOOGL) Android can’t play the game now, but there are plans from Bethesda to release an Android version of the game in the near future.
