Google (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) is rolling out YouTube Newswire, a feature that will include eyewitness footage uploaded to Youtube.
The feature is designed to cover local and global news in a more effective way on the video streaming site. Google is adding a number of video streams on YouTube Newswire that cover different news stories.
It is being labeled as “a curated feed of the most newsworthy eyewitness videos of the day.” Among the current feeds is a stream on the recent Charleston church shooting.
YouTube Newswire will also identify hoax videos and remove them from the streams.
GOOG stock is up 1.41% Thursday. GOOGL stock is up 1.75%.
